What we do first

The first job is always the same: stop water getting in. We tarp the opening so the roof is watertight before anything else happens, which buys the time to assess the damage properly and order the right materials rather than patching in the dark.

Once the house is dry we walk the roof and the attic, photograph what we find, and tell you plainly whether this is a repair or a replacement. Some storms take a ridge vent and a dozen shingles. Some take the deck. You get the honest version either way.

When to call us right away

• Water is actively coming in: a stain spreading across a ceiling, a drip in an upstairs room, water running down an interior wall.
• You can see sky from the attic, or daylight through the roof deck.
• Shingles are gone after a wind event, especially in strips along a ridge or rake edge.
• A tree or limb is on the roof, whether or not it has punched through.
• Flashing has lifted around a chimney, skylight or valley and rain is forecast.

Storm damage and your insurance claim

Photographs taken before a tarp goes on are worth more to a claim than anything taken a week later, which is one more reason to call while the damage is fresh rather than waiting to see whether it dries out.

Repair, or replace

Not every job calls for a full replacement. Our team handles roof repairs, leak fixes and complete storm-damage restoration, and a sound roof with localized damage is usually worth repairing.
